After being stuck at home for months, camping was one of the first activities deemed low risk in the midst of the pandemic. So, our Family Campground has been buzzing since Memorial Day weekend.
This summer the scenery at the campground is a little different, as the Nebraska Lutheran Outdoor Ministries (NLOM) Buildings & Grounds team (with the help of many Guest Services team members while unable to serve guests) completed the two-story Together in Joy Campside Pavilion.
The upper picnic shelter holds up to 80 people with abundant seating at picnic tables with a beautiful view. There’s an eight-burner gas grill and plenty of outlets for everyone’s crockpots and roasters. A beautiful stone fireplace will warm those gathered
together in the early spring and late fall. Two restrooms are located just around back—right off the small parking areas on each side of the pavilion. Sidewalks have been added to make the picnic area and restrooms accessible for all.
In the lower level, if needed, guests staying at the Family Campground can take shelter from sudden severe weather in the large storm shelter. The lower level also features additional restrooms and four showers.
Funding for the project was graciously led by Tom & Janice Lippincott and Cass County Tourism.
There’s still plenty of time this fall to come out an enjoy the peaceful scenery of this place set apart. Each of the 24 grass RV pads has electrical (30 amp and 50 amp) and water hook ups. Reserve your spot by calling Dana at 402-944-2544.
