Important Update: Our Response to Coronavirus (COVID-19)

We recognize you may have questions and concerns regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and how it could affect your upcoming time at the Carol Joy Holling Center.

We are in contact with local health officials and are following the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in regards to both on-site cleanliness and large group gatherings. If you feel you need to reschedule, we will work with you to find another date without penalty, based on our current availability.

As the situation develops, we continue to review our practices. We want you to know:

• The cleaning products our housekeeping team uses are on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s list of products thought to be effective for this version of the Coronavirus.

• We have increased the frequency of sanitizing surfaces in our communal areas.

• All of our food service staff members have completed the ServSafe certification and follow strict food preparation, cleanliness, and safety standards.

• Instead of community dining, we will be delivering box meals directly to your group at your meeting location.

• We will be collecting contact information for all guests at check in.

• We have a plan in place to manage the spread of this virus, if someone becomes symptomatic while attending a retreat at Carol Joy Holling Center. Your host will communicate this plan with you upon your arrival.

We ask that you encourage group members to stay home if they are exhibiting symptoms of this virus (fever, cough, shortness of breath).

While here, we ask you practice preventive actions including:

• Washing your hands frequently, with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, or using alcohol-based sanitizer if soap and water is not available

• Covering coughs and sneezes with a tissue or your elbow

As a ministry and people of faith, so much of what we do is focused on creating a welcoming atmosphere and caring for others. We recognize the situation is changing rapidly, and will reach out as soon as we notice any changes need to be made to your event. We ask you do the same.
